T.E.A.C.H. College Program

Sober Living by the Sea is also one of the first treatment centers to introduce T.E.A.C.H., a program that allows our patients to attend college and earn transferable academic credits while in recovery. For more than 10 years, the T.E.A.C.H. program has helped hundreds of students recovering from addiction or eating disorders to succeed by providing transportation, monitored study sessions, counseling, computer equipment, tutorial services, and career assessment testing.

World-Renowned Extended Care Program

At Sober Living by the Sea, we understand that 30 days of treatment may not be sufficient for all clients to achieve a full and lasting recovery. Research shows that when a patient spends more time living in a structured environment, with access to therapeutic services and support, he or she has the best chance to steer clear of drugs, alcohol, and triggers for disordered eating.

That's why we offer a 90-day residential extended care program that allows clients to continue treatment for their addiction or eating disorder while living with other recovering individuals and receiving plenty of caring support. As part of their individualized treatment program, patients will receive one-on-one and group counseling, family therapy, alternative and experiential therapies, vocational and educational guidance, referrals to community resources, and more. Our transitional work program allows you to continue working while living in a therapeutic community.

During this critical time, most patients need help rebuilding their lives, their work, their relationships, and their lifestyle. As patients grow stronger in their recovery, we help them begin to transition back into mainstream living, where they can work, meet new people, and gradually assume greater responsibility for their daily lives.

Caring and Effective Treatment for Eating Disorders

Our specialized eating disorder program, the Victorian of Newport Beach, helps women ages 18 and over manage and overcome anorexia, bulimia, or compulsive overeating/binge eating, as well as co-occurring issues.

Combining proper nutrition, health education, 12-Step meetings, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and individual, group, and family counseling, our approach has proven to help clients time and time again to challenge self-defeating thoughts and learn new ways to cope. Surrounded by women who understand the toll an eating disorder can take, and a staff that consists of the best clinical experts in the field, women set aside the shame, confusion, and low self-esteem that accompany these disorders and begin to heal.
